Wow, is it the weekend already? I don’t know about you, but the past week flew by for me! Let’s dive into this week’s Dizzy Busy Digest!
Week in review: The highlight of my week was accompanying Thing 2 on his 7th grade school field trip. It was a wonderful day. We thought we were going to get soaked because the weather forecast called for periodic heavy rain and even thunderstorms, but as it turned out, every time we needed to be outside to walk to the next tour stop, it was not raining. How lucky was that!?! The tour of NBC studios was the best part of the trip, because we got the opportunity to tour the Saturday Night Live set AND the Today Show set. It was really neat to get a behind-the-scenes peek at how things really look when not viewed through the camera. Here are some pictures from the trip!

In food news, we had the Avocado Bacon Burger and the Tuna ‘Shroom Dinner this week…both big hits with the family. The Tuna ‘Shroom dinner especially was enjoyed by Thing 2, who as you know, is my challenging one. If he likes something, I would think that most other kids would like it as well. So if you haven’t checked them out yet, follow the links above!
Weekend agenda: Of course, the highlight of this weekend is Mother’s Day! Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! A special shout-out to my own beautiful and amazing mom (picture on the right)! Love you, Mom!
Have you made plans for your Mother’s Day brunch yet? If not, here are some ideas for you! My mouth is watering just thinking about these!
Lemon Yogurt Pancakes from me, Dizzy Busy and Hungry!
French Toast Muffins from Two Peas and Their Pod
Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls with Caramel Frosting from A Taste of Madness
Lemon Yogurt Muffins from For the Love of Cooking
Week ahead: For the upcoming week, I have posts planned for Quicky Chicky, a super-easy and delicious chicken recipe, and Chipper Fish, a recipe that gets your kids to eat fish by covering it in potato chips! In addition to posting great kid-friendly recipes this week, my focus will be on the food photography. I have made some adjustments to my strategy and also discovered that my crappy little point-and-shoot actually has a few more settings I can adjust! So I am going to play around with that this week and hopefully see some good results. I hope to get a better camera someday, but until then, I will continue to try different things to make the most of what I’ve got!
That’s it! Thanks for reading and hope you and your family have a GREAT weekend!
